Tincal Lab Challenge
Travel and Jewellery
The most rewarding aspect of travel for me is experiencing what I truly love and find meaningful, especially when reflecting on our first wild camping experience in the summer of 2023. It’s about discovering how we can solve the same challenges with less. Everything slows down, and everything becomes simpler. This idea formed the basis of my project: to create something as simple as possible using as few tools as necessary.
For this project, the tools I rely on are limited to a sawing frame with various blades, an Archimedes drill, a needle file, and a burnisher. These tools allow me to respond directly to the theme of Tincallab’s exhibition, Travel and Jewellery.
The final pieces were first shown as part of the group exhibition in Porto in November 2023. After Porto, the exhibition travelled to Madrid, Rome, and Athens, continuing the conversation across different cultural contexts.
